Photo Shoot with MoDeZinz Photography and Design!

I got to do a shoot with my amazing friend Monica of MoDeZinz Photography and Design on Saturday. She's doing a photo series about love- specifically what makes couples unique. Since my husband, Joe, and I are both actors, we decided to portray a few of our favorite couples from theatre, cinema and pop culture. We shot at the gorgeous Glove Theatre (also the location of my wedding!) and used their costume collection to create our characters.

Here's a sneak peak of some of the shots we got.

I'll be back later with a recap of my friend's wedding weekend, but just wanted to share these shots with you guys! :)

Continued Nuptial Shenanigans...

I should have slept later yesterday AM (I was out until 4am swimming in a lake with friends from high school- awesome!), but my mom and the dogs were up at 7:30a, and so was I.

I bummed around the house in the AM, and when Joe FINALLY woke up, we headed out.

I got to rock my $1.50 Oscar de la Renta silk blouse,  $0.99 belt, $3 messenger back and $4 moccasins from my THRIFT STORE SHOPPING SPREE!

We get excited before a meal.

Joe makes a habit of jumping for joy.

We ended up at Moe's- and I ended up with a belly full of salsa...

 And other things. Yummmmmm.

I decided to push my thrift store luck a bit further and stop at the Goodwill- wise decision! I picked up this hot number, which is getting chopped into a cocktail dress by my sewing-goddess momma!

My sister didn't like her dress as much as I liked mine...

Then it was off to rehearsal dinner for my homies, Jarred and Genevieve, at the beautiful Perthshire!

 Holy cute kids.

 And stunning flowers...

Jarred is a hilarious person. Just in case you weren't sure...

They won't let us dance toward the altar, but we CAN dance while we exit! YESSSS.

Rehearsal dinner was at the Italian Bistro (where my rehearsal dinner was three short months ago)! Yum. A fun, chill evening with people I love.

Hint: if you play with all the kids at an event, chances are ONE of them will pick a flower for your hair.

We capped the night with Stewarts ice cream!

Perfection.

Catchin' Up with Family and Friends

Last evening I enjoyed dinner with the mahjah at one of my favorite restaurants in Johnstown, Italian Bistro. I've been coming here since 9th grade, and their chicken wing pizza is my favorite on earth.

They have the most delicious breadsticks, served with delicious marinated tomatoes.

I went with the soup/ salad bar combo.

And the mahjah had a personal pizza. Mmmm....

After dinner, I headed out to meet up with my friends Jarred and Genevieve, who are getting hitched!

When she picked me up, she had an iced coffee waiting for me... Is it obvious why we're friends? :)

As I mentioned earlier, Jarred and I have been BFFs since 2003- I'm so happy he found such a wonderful woman to share his life with!

Devin (left) and I have been friends since MIDDLE SCHOOL, and Travis (right) has directed me in two films- such a sweet guy! Both of these guys are groomsmen in the wedding!

We like to lay around together...

Part of our wedding prep tasks included the boys trying on their tuxes (my Joe on the left, and Devin on the right). Aren't they handsome?

When we finished our wedding chores, it was almost 1a. We were BOILING hot, and decided it was the perfect time to head to the lake for some nighttime swimming!
Jarred, Devin and Genevieve picking up some provisions...

Joe doesn't warn me before he does these things in pictures... just for clarification...

Oh heyyyyy there Pine Lake.

I'm the Little Mermaid! And YES, I'm wearing a bathing suit top!

Jarred and I have started a photo series called the "Lake Creeper".  Usually these pictures involve me obliviously playing in the water while Jarred stalks in the background. Awesome.

By the time I returned home and went to bed, it was 4 AM. I cannot honestly tell you the last time I was up that late... I guess being home and hanging out with old friends reminds you of old habits! :)

Have you been able to spend time with family members or good friends recently? What did you do?

Have you gone on any late night adventures recently?

Thrift Store Steals

Yesterday I took my mom to her PT appointment (she just had a long overdue and VERY successful hip replacement!). While she was with the therapist, I ran over to the Gloversville Salvation Army to kill some time. $20.77 later, I had a pair of shoes, a skirt, two belts, a blouse, two sweaters, a dress and three t-shirts.
This skirt fits PERFECTLY. The material is a bit too heavy for now, but will be awesome for the fall! For $1.99 how can you go wrong?

:) Legs. I LOVED this sweater- SO 80's off-shoulder amazing, and $0.99. Yes, please.

This dress is really lightweight and so versatile. :) And white-tagged items were 50% off, so it was $3.50.

These sweet belts were $0.99 each, and the Oscar de la Renta 100% silk blouse was 50% off.

Why I thrift:
1) One of a kind items (or at least more rare/ no longer in production items)
2) It's eco-friendliness
3) Budget-friendliness
4) Sense of accomplishment (nothing like finding PERFECT pieces)

Do you thrift? Any good finds lately?

Pictures make me smile....

Evidently Joe finds salads sexy... I guess I do too- this one had spinach, blueberries, raw almonds, baked tofu, carrots, cucumbers and raspberry vinagrette. OH. YEAH.

Just looking at this picture makes me smile. Iced coffee, no one makes me feel like you do.

I had my usual this AM for breakfast with my sister.

She uses glitter nail-polish. Like a five year old.

Though I guess I don't really have room to talk. I very nearly bought these, until I realized they were only ponies and not unicorns. #UNICORN SNOB.

Wow. This came out a lot more serious than I intended it too. That's Liam. He's a serious pup.
