The Beginning of Bastille Week!

Happy Sunday, frienders! Hope you did something outrageously awesome today!

I'm DROWNING in lesson planning for the summer (my last time teaching for a while) and I needed to get out of the house for a bit, so the hubs and I suited up and headed out.

He's a pretty casual guy. Always.

I rocked the $2 thrift store maxi dress with $1 thrift store belt and sandals from summer 2005. Awww yeah.

Our original plan was to hit up Dallas Jones BBQ on Atlantic Ave (I bought their Living Social Deal) but after schlepping all the way there, we discovered that the Brooklyn location was closed (no notification or indication anywhere on their website. Annoying.)

Unbeknowst to us, it was the opening day of Bastille Week in Brooklyn.

We stumbled past a pentaque tournament (basically French bocce ball) and made our way into Robin Des Bois for a suitably French lunch.

Gorgeous decor.

LOVED this poster. Brigitte Bardot is one of my beauty icons. Stunning.

Joe got Oeufs Au Gratin Clasique (With Ham and Gruyere)- served with toasty thick bread and mixed greens. He was a happy boy.

I got chicken sausage with rosemary potatoes, grilled apples and mixed greens. Perfection.

After a Starbucks pit stop (addicts, I. know.), we headed back to the train, and couldn't bear to pass VanLeeuwen's without stopping in...

Joe got Mint Chip.

I went with Cinnamon.

Mmmm.... the chips in Joe's mint chip were sinfully dark and rich, and my cinnamon was sweet and had floral notes... very refreshing!

We were stuffed but on our way to the train we were derailed AGAIN, this time by a friendly fellow standing infront of Mile End Delicatessen handing out free pastries. Not samples. Not tastes. Free ENTIRE pastries. A chocolate hazelnut roll, to be exact.

RI.DIC.U.LOUS.

We waddled back to the train full, but happy. Don't worry- I'm planning on spending lots of QT with my kettlebells tomorrow to make up for this weekend...

What did you eat today? Did you workout? Tell me more!

Looks delish!! I had a cookout with some gym friends and made stuffed red bell peppers. There was also some chicken breasts and veggie kebobs-yum!

As for workout--I took a nice hike with a couple friends early in the morning! Must. Hike. More. :)
