The Boy Who Lived! (NO SPOILER!)

If you're an HP fan, you already know where this is going....

OK- This was Thursday's breakfast... Egg whites, turkey bacon, monterey jack and a whole grain sandwich thin... PERFECTION. Yesterday I had a peanut butter, banana and english muffin breakfast sandwich. Delish. :)

It was a pretty relaxing morning... Skyping with a friend and doing some computer work.... In the early afternoon I got dressed and grabbed a train into Manhattan to meet Joe to see:

YAAAAAAAAAAY! I am a HP FREAK (in the best sense of the word).
3D and popcorn! DOES IT GET ANY BETTER? Yes. It does. I thought I had purchased the IMAX 3D, but I hadn't. Sadness.

I love HP so much that I wouldn't dream of spoiling it for anyone who hasn't read the books (how dare you?!?!) or seen all the movies. I will tell you these three things, though:

1. Seeing epic, exciting and popular movies in a NYC theatre is pretty much the best thing ever. Why? Because New Yorkers aren't shy. When something bad happens, there's a collective "oooooohhhhhhh". The audience erupted into applause and cheers several times. At a particularly suspensful moment, a woman behind me shouted, "Sh*t Neville, you'd BETTAH run!"

2. I have a crush on Alan Rickman. Don't judge me.
Yes, he's old enough to be my dad... (and technically my grandpa, but who's counting?), but what can I say- I have a thing for talented actors...

3. If things don't work out between Alan and I, there's always Jason Isaacs (aka Draco Malfoy's dad).

After the movie, Joe and I headed downtown for dinner.

Rocking my $15 Chinatown shorts, purchased with this dress

Our original plan was to go to Dallas Jone's BBQ using the Living Social deal that I had purchased for Joe. As I mentioned in my Bastille Day post, we had tried to visit their Brooklyn location and discovered upon arrival that it was closed (no notification on their website- ANNOYING). We called ahead to confirm that we'd be able to use our voucher at the Manhattan location and were told YES. When we arrived, we were seated, explained the situation and turned in our voucher and waited for about ten minutes before being told that we were not allowed to use our voucher because it was purchased for the CLOSED Brooklyn location. Ummm... What? No notification from the restaurant or Living Socials about the situation, I pay to ride the subway to and from their restaurants TWICE, and I can't use the voucher I paid for? I've contacted Living Socials to get a refund... I'll let you know how it goes...

Needless to say, we left, and headed to one of my favorite spots- GOBO. They have one of my favorite veggie burgers on EARTH! It's not on the dinner menu, but if you ask nicely, they'll make it for you. :)
Despite the face he's making, Joe loves Gobo almost as much as I do. He got the pineapple fried rice, I got my beloved veggie burger with yam fries. All was well with the world. (No food pics... the lighting wasn't great, and we were HUNGRY).

I had a birthday party to attend, but I almost fell asleep during dinner, so we headed home instead.

I did A LOT more walking than I had planned on, and my shoes were OFF before I got in my door, because that's how I roll. (Please don't be too grossed out- this is right in front of my house. I was barefoot on the sidewalk for approximately 90 seconds...)

Have you seen the newest Harry Potter yet? Read the books?

Do you have any weird crushes?

Any annoying business interactions recently?

I WANT TO KNOW!

You're stunning, and I love how you're actually healthy and not just anorexic/orthorexic like so many other food bloggers :)

Don't succumb! Good luck with your performing arts, I hope to see you in the next HP (as in, I hope there's another cult book series like HP!)
