Snack Attack...

Are your Mondays happy? Mine are, sometimes. I mean, I do have a pretty awesome job... Having super students makes ANY morning better.

I had the foresight to whip up some overnight oats Sunday evening... this incarnation includes vanilla protein, chia seeds, soymilk, water, oats and frozen raspberries. Awwww yeah.

Somehow I procured a free sample of ZipFizz... It's a low-carb sugar-free energy boosting powder that can be added to water... the pink lemonade flavor was pretty darn tasty... I didn't notice a huge boost in my energy levels, but I didn't feel tired either... Hmmm...

Lunch was a Turkey Sausage Egg White Multigrain Bagel sandwich and an iced coffee... You know it's time to actually start packing your lunch when they know you by order at the Coney Island Dunkin Donuts...

A pre-dance snack! Because who DOESN'T want a belly full of dairy before getting your butt kicked in dance class? (Actually, the little bit of sugar was a good thing...)

Bikini Burlesque Bootcamp was TOUGH today. Holy. Moly. So. Sore.

I was exhausted after dance, so I made a snack plate! Cherries, Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge and some Food Should Taste Good Sweet Potato Chips and Late July Organic Dude Ranch Chips!

I have a hard time eating enough when it's hot out... the last thing my body wants is to be stuffed with food and roasting in the heat! BUT my body is pretty good at telling me what it needs... I scarfed down a handful of shredded cheese and a spoonful of PB without hesitation. I didn't actually even realize I was doing it, which is weird because I'm usually a VERY conscious eater... But I felt A LOT better after my little fat/protein feast.

What do you snack on? Does your body take over when it's not getting what it needs?

I absolutely LOVE fresh cherries! Just bought some the other week and have been throwing them in EVERYTHING! I wish I had a pitter though, it would make it a lot easier.

Right? They're pretty labor intensive, but SO worth it. :)
