I feel like I killed it in the gym yesterday...

But I didn't go to the gym. Oy. Vey. My copious soreness is a result of the insanely glute and quad heavy choreography I've given my 4th and 5th graders. At the end of class, yesterday, one girl was concerned because her legs were shaking. I really need to add a new piece, though, because everything's happening on the right leg. We need to move to the left a bit more! I told my students that they'd be really sore today, but it'd be a good sore. We'll see if they agree...

Yesterday as a special treat for one of my smaller groups, I brought fresh fruit and a honey yogurt dipping sauce (2 cups greek yogurt, 1/4 cup honey, 1tbsp vanilla, 2tsp cinnamon)- it was a hit! It took them about 2 seconds to get over the disappointment that their "treat" didn't fall under the candy or baked goods category... AND three of my students found new favorite fruit! I guess it's LESS annoying if Miss Keelie talks you into trying new food than if your mom does... I had really wanted to snap a photo, but my hands were covered in fruit juice...

Today will be another LONG day of teaching (it's costume day- WAHOO- pics to follow). I'm currently sucking down a hazelnut iced coffee and mentally preparing.

What are your AM rituals? What do you do to prepare for a long day?

P.S. On my other blog, I posted about this GORGEOUS public art project I stumbled across called Before I Die- check it out!

P.P.S. Kids are amazing.

Great snack for the kids!! Every year at soccer, the moms bring all kinds of typical treats for after the game - gummy bears, high sugar granola bars, artificial this and that (and I bring that crap, too, occasionally because it's easy). Occasionally, I'll bring cut up apples and oranges and grapes and it's always that day that the kids sit around with fruit juice dripping all down their arms and actually seem to really enjoy the change in nutrition.
