Taking Care of Business

This is a big week for me. It's my last week of this gorgeous commute to and from the school I teach at.
The sky from Sunday/ Monday's crazy storm. Oy. Vey.

I'll miss this walk- never a dull moment. These sexy beasts were laying on the boardwalk just begging to be photographed.

Luckily the hubberoni has been happy to pick up the slack in the kitchen. He made this yummy quicherole on Tuesday.

And last night he whipped up some baked eggplant parm. Oh. Yeah.

I've been having some serious sleep issues, namely not being able to fall asleep until far later than intended. I was SO proud to have passed out at 10p last night- A FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP! WAHOO!- until I woke up at 2:30a and could not go back to sleep. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Since I was up already and Joe was still firmly planted in dreamyland, I fixed him breakfast when his alarm went off at 4a (he leaves for work at 5a).

Turkey bacon, egg whites and a bit of cheddar with a sandwich thin and jam! (My breakfast was pretty much identical, minus the jam).

I'm spending today chipping away at this to do list (crossed out items are DONE!):

-Catch up on blog related emails, post details for the  NYC BLOGGER PLAYDATE!

-Pack for HLS!
-Bake treats for my students.
-Open the nearly foot-tall pile of mail that's been accumulating.
-Dishwashing bonanza.
-Grocery shop!
-RUN!
-Prepare for my last day of teaching (Friday).
-Continue plowing through my summer reading. I'm hoping to finish The Viewpoints Book today. It's fascinating. I'll be writing a review of it on my acting blog
-Organize myself for next week's orientation/ the beginning of my master's degree.
-Organize myself for next Sunday's Bronx 1/2 Marathon.

My business cards are here! Just in time for HLS! Hooray! :)

Confession- I let mail accumulate sometimes (though I do scan it for time-sensitive materials).

One of these stacks is relevant mail I needed to receive and will keep or attend to. The other is junk mail. Can you guess which is which? *RANT ALERT* The kids I work with in the Bronx and Brooklyn are desperate for school supplies and frequently don't have their own paper for assignments, let alone creative writing, drawing, etc. and THIS MUCH PAPER is wasted weekly on just me. I recycle as much as humanly possible, and yet all of the left pile will be shredded or thrown away because it contains my name and address or is covered with advertisements, donation requests, etc. IS WASTING THIS MUCH PAPER A SMART BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR ANYONE? Call me. Email me. Tweet me. It's annoying, but I'd much rather  deal with tech junk mail than throw away this much waste. Grrr. *END RANT*

I'm off to run (boy do I need it) and then pick up baking supplies to make some treats for my students. Tomorrow is my last day of teaching. I'm hydrating now in anticipation of all the crying I'll be doing.

Tomorrow night I'm Philly bound for the Healthy Living Summit. Who will I see there?
