I wear many hats...

Sorry I was MIA this weekend! I can't wait to catch up on all your blogs! I just spent the past few days upstate alternating between the roles of pageant slave (to my sister who's competing at Miss NY 2011) and bridesmaid (for my friend who's getting married in July)!

My sister, Kieren, left this AM to compete for the title of Miss NY! I'm a retired pageant girl myself, so I know exactly what she was going through. (Read about my pageant history at: www.keeliesheridan.blogspot.com and www.missbrooklyn2009.blogspot.com).

She modeled her pageant wardrobe at a sendoff party hosted by the Miss Fulton County Organization, and looked gorgeous doing it!
The opening number dress- the rest of her wardrobe is under wraps until the pageant! :)

After sendoff party #1, we headed to my dad's for ANOTHER sendoff party.

Did you know my family consists solely of ninjas? That's my youngest sister, Courtney. I taught her all her moves.

My. Hair. Is. Crazy. I'd invite you to join my ninja clan, but the time commitment is HUGE, and I know you're all busy.

Kieren with cake #2 for the day. Oy. Vey.

I spent the remainder of the day helping Kieren shop and prepare for her departure and making favors for my friend Genevieve's bridal shower.

Tragedy and comedy mask chocolates for her Broadway-themed bridal shower! Ignore the imperfections- air bubbles are annoying...

My friend Mandi (also a bridesmaid) made the cake. AMAZING. And completely edible (including the modeling chocolate shoe). She's self-taught, and makes GORGEOUS, DELICIOUS cakes! In case you're counting, that's the THIRD cake I encountered in a 24hr time period.

Myself with the bride-to-be! Isn't she cute? Does she look familiar?

She was one of my bridesmaids in April! :)

The weekend was SUPER BUSY but so much fun! I didn't get a chance to run AT ALL, though, and I was bummed. Don't worry, I did squeeze in some sweaty time...

At a top-secret dance rehearsal. For real- I'm not allowed to say what this was for- yet...

Gettin' crazy...

I did my best to balance out all that cake...

What was your weekend like?

Do you have a hard time scheduling workouts while you're away from home? Any tips?

Love the ninja pictures! I have a hard time working out away from home. In fact, I have a 3 week trip coming up in 2 weeks. I told my dad I was excited to stay at his place because he has an exercise bike and sauna. I am not sure how much time I will be on his exercise bike....LOL!

They were so yummy! :)

And SORRY to anyone prepping for a competition! I promise my blog doesn't ENTIRELY consist of cake. :)

I agree with Low, you can never have too much cake around. :) I normally have a hard time working out when away as well. If I can find a running space, I'll do that. Otherwise, I just try to be mostly good with eating and plan to work out harder right when I get back (doesn't always happen though).

My problem is that I usually schedule WAYYY too much (especially when I'm visiting home) and I don't leave myself any time to workout. I do love running in new places, though! :)
