Sand Everywhere and FREE Workout Tunes!

*Disclaimer* Most of the things in this post have nothing to do with each other.

Dinner last night was yumgasmic (feel free to use that word in daily conversation). Navy beans simmered with peanut flour and garlic, curry roasted squash and a TJ's Chili Lime Chicken Burger. Happy tummy. :)

My 1/2 marathon training schedule today called for 3 miles + strength training. I very nearly talked myself out of it because honestly, I was NOT feeling it today... I kept reminding myself how glad I'd be if I did it, and that this would be my FIRST missed day of training... As I've mentioned before, I'm not great at running outdoors. Is this just me? Is it a psychological block, or is there really a difference? Regardless, the weather is DEAD SEXY in Brooklyn at the moment- a cool and breezy 77F, so I laced up my shoes and headed out.

I really don't have much to complain about, I know... most of this run is either along the bay or along the beach... I was making decent time for the first mile, but as soon as I hit the beach the friendly, cooling breeze turned into a sand-whipping beast. I literally thought I might go blind. There is STILL sand in my right eye. I walked for a good five minutes with my eyes closed, it was so. friggin. sandy. And THEN I inhaled an insect which refuses to leave my throat, no matter how loudly or ridiculously I cough...

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and download Girl Talk's EPICLY AMAZING album, All Day, for free on their website. They're mixmasters of the highest quality, and I guarantee they will rock your sweaty runner-socks off. Has anyone else been following the trend of musicians releasing albums for free on their websites? It's kind of fascinating- the internet has almost completely eliminated the need for record labels (who usually get almost ALL the profit from album sales), so bands are producing and releasing their own albums, putting them on their websites for free and then making money from tours, merch, etc... Interesting concept...

I'm wolfing down a Happy Keelie Paco Taco (pretty much the same as yesterday's with some broccoli. Mmmm...

...and chugging an iced coffee before heading off to teach! Today is our FINAL dress rehearsal before my dance student's show tomorrow evening! I'm so excited for them! :)

I want to know:

-Do you prefer running outdoors or indoors?
-Do you think record labels are a thing of the past?
-Did you download GIRL TALK's album? How do you like it?

Oh my goodness! Downloaded this and was addicted after the 1st song! Normally I have playlists I use for the gym/running, but I'm loving these beats!

I have difficulty running outside too! I can't figure it out but I've enlisted the help of my sister who is an awesome runner!
